About the Film

Set on a remote island in Iran, the film follows Omid, a child laborer whose discovery of his mother’s hidden life propels him into the dangerous world of drug trafficking. As their paths converge, both mother and son are forced to confront their truths and the consequences of their choices.

Rooted in a real-life encounter, Everything is the Fault of the Wind is a poignant meditation on resilience, shame, and unconditional love—brought to life by a deeply personal vision from debut director Shaghayegh Majidi.

The 18-minute drama is part of Fanoos Films’ mission to amplify bold, emerging voices from contemporary Iranian cinema.
