Bro” the short fiction film directed by Sahand Kabiri, is selected for the competition section of 14th Leiden Shorts International Film Festival!

Leiden Shorts is the second short film festival in the Netherlands. Over the last 13 years, it has grown into a broad and high-quality festival.The festival will take place between 9-12 June 2022 in Kijkhuis, Leiden, The Netherlands.

“Bro” is about Mehrad, a 20-year-old guy from the upper-middle-class Tehran. Despite the social practices of his class, he decides to deal cocaine in his underground party

community and today, he’s going to buy 200 grams of cocaine for the first time.

Sahand Kabiri is a filmmaker based in Tehran who was born in 1991. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from the Art University of Tehran in Cinema with a major in scriptwriting. He has made four short films so far. His movies have been praised in different festivals including Cinema House Film Festival where they were nominated for the “Best Movie” and “Best Director”. Also, he has won several awards from Nahal Independent Short Film Festival.

He joined ISFA in 2012 where he also was the jury of ISFA’s festival for three years. He has been a member of the Academy Jury in Nahal Film Festival since 2015.
