Synopsis:

When it’s revealed that Omid and Masoud were engaged in a homosexual relationship, Omid commits suicide to save himself from being humiliated by others and Masoud disappears. After 40 days Omid’s mother decides to prepare a votive food. The votive food that is going to be served once she has murdered Masoud and used the slaughtered meat of his body for cooking the meal. After carrying out her vomit food and confessing to the police about her crime, she is requested to reenact what happened on the day of the murder.

Director’s Note:

A few years back, I used to have a friend who had closeted his homosexuality to save himself from society’s backlash. He even had a girlfriend, and they were planning to get married. However, a week before the marriage, he came to his senses and refused to wed. Upon doing so, he was shunned by his family and friends, and his life turned into hell. The way he was treated by society always boggled me, and I would ask myself why can’t a man live a normal life just because of the nature of his creation. This always had me concerned until one day the idea of this screenplay struck me, and then I penned it with a friend. Although it is not possible for this film to be shown in public in our country, I hope that people will stop judging each other for something that they themselves haven’t gone through.
