Fanoos Films is a Tehran and Istanbul based film company founded by Kourosh Ataee, working on finance, production, world sales & festivals, marketing and PR of Iranian and international independent films.

Our aim is helping to produce and promote independent short and feature documentaries and fictions, and cooperate with international companies and foundations.

If you have an idea in mind, a project in the middle of production, or a completed film; we can accompany you in the rest of the way as we offer services for development, production. festivals and sales and PR and marketing of a film project.

Kourosh Ataee

Founder & CEO

Born in 1990 in Bojnourd, Iran; he started his career as a filmmaker when attending the filmmaking courses of Iran’s Young Cinema Society in 2007. He also got a B.A in film directing and a M.A in dramatic literature from the Cinema & Theatre Faculty of Tehran University of Arts. After some experiences in making short films and working as an assistant director in a couple of short and long features and TV series, he continued his career with a focus on documentary films and he has directed and produced a mid-length documentary titled “From Iran,A Separation” in 2013 which was acclaimed in different festivals around the world, and a feature documentary titled “Finding Farideh” in 2018, which received a lot of prizes and admirations and was selected as the Iranian representative for the academy awards Oscars 2020. Also, he is a member of the association of Iranian documentary producers, and inn 2021, he established his independent company “Fanoos Films” which is focused on financing, producing and distributing Iranian independent fiction and documentary films.

Parisa Gholamianpour

Executive Assistant/Festivals Manager

Parisa, born in Abadan, Iran, in 1997 and currently based in Tehran, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Art University of Isfahan. Her artistic focus spans painting, collage, and photomontage, and she has showcased her work in several visual art exhibitions. In addition to her art practice, Parisa has built a background as a translator, writer, digital content manager, and website manager. She works at the magazine “Herfeh: Honarmand” and joined Fanoos Films in 2023, where she works as the executive assistant and festivals manager.
